Farley, at the annual dinner of the New York Boxing Writers Association in New York, Jan. 9, 1951. Robinson was honored as the man who did the most for the advancement of the sport in 1951. The award has been made each year since 1938 in memory of Neil, an Associated Press boxing writer who was killed working as a correspondent during the Spanish Civil War.
