SOUTH AFRICA BIG WAVE SURFING
Australian big wave surfer Tom Carroll rides a wave at Cape Town's deep offshore reefbreak known as 'Dungeons' after being towed into the wave from a wave runner during a tow-in session of international big wave surfers in Cape Town, South Africa Tuesday 07 June 2005. An elite crew of International big wave surfers including Australians Ross Clarke-Jones and Tom Carroll enjoyed a storm swell in the cold shark infested waters of the Atlantic coast in Cape Town whilst the Red Bull Big Wave Africa competition for paddle in surfers is on hold until the waves exceed the minimum 5-6 meters in height required for the contest to run.
