55 year old Gary Linden from Californian in the USA surfs a 5 meter wave during a practice session of the 2005 Red Bull Big Wave Africa competition in Cape Town, South Africa Wednesday 01 June 2005. The waves were not deemed big enough today to hold the contests but the international field of big wave surfers braved the cold, shark infested waters to get in a practice session on what is considered a small day for big wave surfers at only 5 to 6 meters in height.
