SINGAPUR TIERMEDIZIN ELEPHANT AKUPUNKTUR
The Zoo's veterinarian applies an acupuncture needle into the skin of an 18 year old Malayan Elephant named Tun, Friday Feb. 25, 2005 at the Zoological Gardens in Singapore. An alternative medical treatment of acupuncture, a Chinese traditional medical procedure in which needles are inserted to acupoints on the body and a low electrical voltage is administered to stimulate the muscles, is being used on Tun for the 6th time in a bid to relief her from chronic lameness in her right front leg.
