United Nations Secertary-General Kofi Annan (C), watches as the U.N. Security Council votes unanimously to pass a draft resolution addressing the situation in Lebanon on Friday, 11 August 2006 in New York. The resolution authorizes the deployment of 15,000 U.N. peacekeepers in south Lebanon who would monitor an end of hostilities.
