BLUEBERRIES (VACCINIUM SP.)
Blueberries (Vaccinium sp.) ripening on a branch. Blueberries are edible when ripe and contain phytochemicals called anthocyanidins, which protect the body against damage by free radicals. This therefore, helps to prevent cancers and protects the heart. Blueberries also contain pterostilbene, which may lower cholesterol.
