SCHWEIZ LUFTFAHRT SWISSAIR
A Swissair pilot screams during a protest march to UBS and Credit Suisse offices in Geneva, Thursday, October 4, 2001. The panel who reads 'Well done Mario' refers to the embattled Swissair chairman, Mario Corti, who has emerged largely unscathed from the current crisis. The two leading Swiss banks, UBS and Credit Suisse, were accused of stalling in the transfer of much needed cash to the airline Swissair's. On last Tuesday and Wednesday, entire fleet remained grounded as the collapsed Swiss flag carrier desperately seeked for cash. Swiss government injected late on Wednesday an emergency 450 million Swiss francs to the airline, allowing Swissair to resume flights halted for two days. (KEYSTONE/Fabrice Coffrini)
