SCHWEIZ STAUSEE LAC DES DIX
The dam wall of the Lac des Dix, pictured Monday, July 4, 2011 near Heremence in the Canton of Valais, Switzerland. At 700m length and 285 m high, it is the tallest gravity dam in the world and is part of the Cleuson-Dixence Complex. Construction on the dam began in 1950 and was completed in 1964, before officially commissioning in 1965. (KEYSTONE/Alessandro Della Bella)
