GROSSBRITANNIEN FUSSBALL IBROX TRAGOEDIE 1971 JAHRESTAG
GLG03 - 20010102 - GLASGOW, UNITED KINGDOM : A plaque unveiled Tuesday, 02 January 2001, to remember the victims of the Ibrox Stadium disaster on the 30th anniversary of the day in which 66 fans died after a crush on the terraces at the end of a Rangers-Celtic game in Glasgow on 02 January 1971. The accident happened just minutes before the end of the game as Rangers supporters began to leave their home ground, many hoping to avoid the rush caused by the 80,000 capacity stadium emptying in just 20 minutes. Their deaths, in one of Britain's worst sporting disasters, were remembered at a special service today. .EPA PHOTO REUTERS ROTA POOL/JEFF J. MITCHELL
