FEMALE GREY WAGTAIL
Female grey wagtail (Motacilla cinerea) at the edge of a stream. This bird is found throughout temperate Europe and Asia and parts of northern Africa. It is insectivorous and inhabits areas close to fast flowing streams. The adult male has a black throat, which makes it identifiable against the female. Photographed in the Abruzzo National Park in Italy. (KEYSTONE/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY/MANUEL PRESTI)
