SCHWEIZ FREIZEIT GELMERBAHN
People in the Gelmer Funicular (Gelmerbahn) enjoy the beautiful view of the Alps, this Wednesday, September 4, 2019, in the Grimsel Region, canton Bern, Switzerland. With an inclination of up to 106%, this funicular is the steepest of its kind in Europe. Originally built to transport the heavy construction materials for the Gelmer dam, it is nowadays open for adventure-seeking hikers. In a blink, the funicular makes its way to the Gelmer valley 1860 meter above sea level. Once at the top, a walk around the turquoise coloured lake is a must, or a hike up to the Gelmer hut for some more spectacular lookouts. (KEYSTONE/Anthony Anex)
