An American airliner, converted for the trip to an Air Ambulance, touched down at London airport, bringing home injured 64-year-old Miss Ruth Holden, of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Holidaying in California, she was called home to be with her sister, Mrs E.Jones, seriously ill in Kelvedon, Essex. Miss Holden fell 10 feet when collecting her luggage at Newfoundland and her back was badly injured.
