USA GRINNELL GLETSCHER SEE
Grinnell Glacier, Glacier National Park, Montana, 1957. Years ago, Grinnell Glacier was much larger than it is now. The mass of ice extends back to the "Garden Wall," part of the continental divide, and melts into Upper Grinnell Lake at its base. The glacier is covered with rock fragments which fall from the cliff walls and is covered again by snow. (KEYSTONE/SCIENCE PHOTO/Gregory G. Dimijian, M.D.) === ===
