SIZEWELL B NUCLEAR REACTOR DOME
Sizewell B nuclear reactor dome, Sizewell, Suffolk, UK. This dome houses the nuclear reactor that generates electricity by heating water to make superheated steam, which then powers a steam turbine connected to an electricity generator. Sizewell power station was built between 1988 and 1995 to provide electricity and is the UK's only large pressurised water reactor (PWR). (KEYSTONE/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY/DAVID PARKER)
