A picture shows an overturned vehicle near the collapsed overpass of National Highway Route 171 in Nishonomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, western Japan, January 17, 1995, following the Great Hanshin Earthquake. The massive earthquake with a magnitude of 7.3 hit the city of Kobe and nearby areas at 5:46 a.m. on January 17, 1995. The quake left 6,434 people dead and 43,792 injured.
