WWII U.S. CAPTURED EQUIPMENT
A model of captured Nazi jet-propelled interceptor airplane is displayed by the Air Service Technical Command at Freeman Army Airfield, near Seymour, Ind., Sept. 30, 1945. The plane was launched from a vertical platform to meet oncoming bombers over Germany. Carrying only one man, both pilot and expensive propulsion unit were parachuted separately to the ground after firing nose rockets. It had a two minute flight period. (AP Photo)
