BLOWFLY HEAD.
A light micrograph of a blowfly head and proboscis. This 19th century Victorian microslide won a prize medal in the Paris exhibition. It was made by the celebrated mounter, C.M. Topping, who was renown for mounting this preparation. For decades a blowfly proboscis mount was considered the "classic". (KEYSTONE/SCIENCE PHOTO/Kent Wood) === ===
