USA HAWAII SURFER
Daryl 'Flea' Virotsko takes one of the most frightening wipeouts of the century, dropping down the face of a gigantic 40 foot wave at the Quiksilver Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational contest at Waimea Bay, Hawaii, Thursday 16 December 2004. Suffering from a knee injury due to his fall, Virotsko was transported back to shore by a jet-ski, and forced to withdraw from the event. The event was won by Hawaiian Bruce Irons, brother of reigning three times ASP world champion Andy. EPA/KAREN WILSON/TOSTEE.COM AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND OUT
