AURORA BOREALIS, ICELAND
Aurora borealis. The aurora borealis (northern lights) is an atmospheric phenomenon that appears as shimmering bands of coloured light in the sky at high latitudes. It occurs when solar wind particles are directed towards the Earth's magnetic poles and collide with atmospheric atoms, emitting light. Photographed in Seydisfjordur, Iceland.
