GROSSBRITANNIEN NORDIRLAND KONFLIKT PAISLEY
RCOD 323-100 T/I.1535-24 Reverend Ian Paisley Obligatory credit - CAMERA PRESS/Don McCullin The history of 'The Troubles' date back to Britain's first invasion of Ireland in the 12th century. Since then Ireland has been at war with itself: Catholic versus Protestant, Republican versus Unionist. The recent history of unrest in Ulster began in 1969 when Catholic's demanding civil rights met violent Protestant opposition, providing the spark for years of armed struggle which ended with the Good Friday Agreement of 1998.
