A mentally retarded Pakistani struggles for life in the sands of Multan in Pakistan's south Punjuab, while scavenger birds wait near-by. The world observed International Mental Health Day on Friday, 10 October 2003. Health authorities have identified about three per cent of the world's population as retarded while another120 million suffer mental depression.
