SCHWEIZ GOTTLIEB DUTTWEILER
Gottlieb Duttweiler (1888-1962), founder of the cooperation "Migros", is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the cooperation with his employees, taking a bath in the lake of Zurich nearby Rueschlikon, canton of Zurich, Switzerland, pictured in April 1950. Fifty years ago he caused a sensation with his legendary "stone's throw" at the federal parliament: The political party "Landesring der Unabhaengigen" (LDU). But also without this "stone's throw" against the federal parliament building, Migros founder Gottlieb Duttweiler (1888-1962) would have gone down in history as one of the most colorful characters in Switzerland's history. the actual cause for his "stone's throw" of October 8, 1948, that actually smashed two windows at the federal parliament building, was that the parliament didn't take any action when he brought his motion (written proposal) demanding a sufficient supply of the population through an adequate stockpiling.
