MOUNT EVEREST EXPEDITION 1953
See also MEE53/00063 as it is very similar. Coolies, nearing the end of their journey cross a wooden bridge over the Dudh Kosi (the Milk river) in the Khumbu region. These bridges are constructed from tree- trunks and anchored by stones. During the monsoon many are swept away and have to be replaced each year. Alfred Gregory, 1953. Nepal.
