JACQUELINE COCHRAN
Jacqueline Cochran in 1936. She grew up in poverty, was trained as a nurse, and then became one of the country's more skilled and daring women flyers. In July 1936 she married financier Floyd G. Odlum, head of the $100,000,000 Atlas Corporation. The couple met in 1932, and he funded her flying training as part of her cosmetics business. His first wife, Hortense M.
