KAMBODSCHA NORODOM SIHANOUK
Prince Norodom Sihanouk in 1972, headed a Cambodian government in exile. His regime was recognized by China, North Vietnam and North Korea. While in exile, Sihanouk allied with and contributed to the legitimacy of the Khmer Rouge who took over Cambodia in April 1975. The Cambodia Genocide by the Khmer Rouge regime led by Pol Pot between killed estimated 25 percent of the population, around 2 million people between 1975 and 1979.
