Klondike Gold rush, 1898. Miners and entrepreneurs risked freezing temperatures and starvation to arrive at Dawson City in the newly established Yukon Territory of Canada. All hoped to earn a fortune directly or indirectly from the gold that had been discovered there. By 1899, The Klondike Gold rush had ended, and Dawson city lost most of its population.
