TSCHECHOSLOWAKEI GEDENKFEIER LIDICE MASSAKER
Crowd of people commemorate the Lidice massacre. After assassination of Reichs Protector Reinhard Heydrich by Czech paratroopers trained in England in May 1942, Nazi Germany retaliated and shot most men in this village while women were transported to concentration camps and children sent to "reeducation". The town was then leveled to the ground. Lidice, Czechoslovakia 1962. (KEYSTONE/CTK/Jovan Dezort)
