SCHOTTLAND GENETIK KLONEN TIER "DOLLY"
Two nine-month-old Welsh mountain sheep are held by keepers at the Roslin Institute near Edinburgh, Scotland, Wednesday, March 6, 1996. The two are clones, made by scientists from a cell grown in a laboratory and fused with an empty sheep egg by a spark of electricity. The two sheep are identical to each other and to the animal from which the cells were taken. Three other clones made at the same time died, two within minutes of birth and the other after 10 days.
