The Maharashtra government on 25 September issued standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cinema halls, auditoriums, and drama theaters and allowed them to restart operating at 50 percent capacity from 22 October 2021. Cinema halls and theaters closed down in the state in March 2020 and reopened in November 2020. However, they have shut again in April 2021 as part of measures to fight the spread of Covid-19, after the second coronavirus wave hit Maharashtra. EPA/DIVYAKANT SOLANKI
