TWA FLIGHT 800 EXPLOSION
This animated re-enactment, created by the Central Intelligence Agency, shows the disintigration of Paris-bound TWA Flight 800 as it explodes off the coast of Long Island on July 17, 1996. The video was used to explain witnesses' accounts of the explosion, which killed all 230 people aboard. With families of victims looking on, the FBI announced in New York Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997, that the criminal investigation of the crash found no proof that terrorism brought down the ill-fated flight.
