Detroit, Michigan, USA.One of the largest ruins in Detroit, the former Packard Automotive Plant. The factory produced cars from 1903 until it closed in 1958. The building complex, measuring 325.000 square meters, has been totally abandoned since the beginning of the 1990's..Detroit was the birthplace of the middle class. With the car, the city experienced wealth, higher salaries among workers, purchasing power, culture and a boom like no other US city in the 1900s. In the beginning of the 1950s, 1,85 million people lived in Detroit. .Today 700.000 people live in Detroit. Huge areas of Detroit is a urban desert. But many refuse to give up or leave.
