Frontal view of the Cathedral Square, crowdd with people, with the monument symbolizing the city, that is, the Cathedral dedicated to the nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary; the building of the majestic cathedral, fourth biggest church in Europe, covered a time of five centuries, and saw the succession of most famous architects and decorators of that time, coming form all around Europe; the white marble facade takes inspiration from the Gothic style, even if reinterpreted in later ages; definited by five sectors corrensponding to the inner naves, it achieves outburst thanks to its pinnacles, without sny supporting function; on the highest pinnacle, reaching 108,5 meters high, has been placed the golden bronze statue of Madonnina, by the sculptor Giuseppe Perego, in 1774.
