GROSSBRITANNIEN LONDON EYE 1999
The capsules which will hang from the London Eye alongside the River Thames in central London wait Wednesday, October 27, 1999, near Dartford, east London, before the first are floated up the river in batches of four later this week to the site of the giant wheel. Each of the 32 capsules weighing 1.5 tonnes and built in France by ski-lift company Poma, will take half an hour to travel round the 135 metre high ferris wheel, and provide their passengers with views of up to 25 miles away.
