UGANDA KONFLIKT
A Karamajong man proudly shows off his AK-47 for the camera. He is also wearing a jacket belonging to, and probably taken from, a member of the Ugandan Defence Force. Traditional items are also pictured, such as beaded necklaces and a Karamajong man's obligatory wooden stool, used for sitting on and as a pillow. The Ugandan Government's Defence Force is trying to disarm the Karamajong by removing their weapons that are often used for cattle raiding. (KEYSTONE/african.pictures/Colin Walker)
