Stray dogs in Italy are about a Million, every year around 100.000 dogs are abandoned.A growing phenomenon, with no signs of reversing.Since 1991, when was repealed the death penalty for the strays animals,many businessmen have fought for millionaires contracts able to open new dog-shelters.These shelters are places of detention and speculation where the dogs, malnourished and sick , barely survive.They completely lose contact with human, forever forgotten in tiny cages.Behind the stray dogs there is a business which start with the dog catchers, continues with the dog maintenance and ends with the disposal of carcasses.The turnover between the shelters it is over 100 million euros per year.Stray dogs are a real business, deads or alives.
