Oder der Wind blies einen Teil des Saatguts weg oder erstickte es mit angewehtem Boden. Oder die Pflanzen stellten nach einem unzeitigen Regenguss das Wachstum der Blüten und Samenkapseln ein und trieben stattdessen nur Blätter. "Eschscholzia californica" hat Varietäten verschiedener Farbe; als Goldmohn ist sie die Staatsblume des Golden State, Kaliforniens. Die schöne Blume ist mehr als nur Nahrung für die Seele. Eschscholzia californica has different coloured varieties: as a golden poppy it is the state flower of the Golden State of California. The pretty flower is more than just nourishment for the soul. It is also eaten - among other things, in the deceptive hope that, as a drug, it might alter consciousness and perception.
