SHADOW LIVES USA
Remedios Nino folds a sheet at a laundry mat on 47th Street on Chicago' South Side. Although Remedios and her husband Anselmo are undocumented, they own a building. This is common for Latino migrants as their default rate is extremely low and banks are eager to loan to them. Undocumented residents can now open bank accounts, get house loans and, in some states, get drivers' licenses. (KEYSTONE/NOOR/jon lowenstein)
