BOSASSO, SOMALIA- JANUARY 2007.In the dry scrubland of Shebelle B's Camp #6, karate instructor Ahado spars with one of his pupils on a cleared patch of ground in front of his tent come martial arts school.Fleeing threats of violence in Mogadishu, Ahado and his family made the long journey to Bossaso with the dream of setting sail in search of a new life. Unable to raise the money, Adaho became stuck, and so found a spot to pitch a shelter he constructed himself from sticks, sheets and cardboard boxes. Reaching the shores of Yemen remains in his thoughts each day but for now, he makes a few shillings teaching afternoon classes of karate to other displaced Somalis in the surrounding camps.
