Banded coral shrimp (Stenopus hispidus). Even though this species of decapod crustacean looks like a shrimp and has 'shrimp' in it name, it is not a true shrimp. Its body is covered in spines, which are used as a defence mechanism and, like other decapods, it uses its tail to escape backwards. This is known as the caridoid escape reaction, or lobstering.
