APOLLO 11 BOOTPRINT ON MOON, 1969
Apollo 11 bootprint on Moon. This bootprint was made by US astronaut Buzz Aldrin (born 1930), the Apollo 11 Lunar Module Pilot. Aldrin photographed this bootprint about an hour into the lunar extra-vehicular activity carried out by him and Neil Armstrong on 20 July 1969. It was obtained for analysis by soil mechanics experts studying the lunar surface. (KEYSTONE/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY/NASA/SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY)
