GROSSBRITANNIEN AFFAERE SPESEN
MP John Bercow in the first ever speaker hustings that took place in Portcullis House, central London, 15 June 2009. The hustings, organised by the political research charity the Hansard Society is only part of the open campaign of the would-be speakers who also publish their manifestos. It is the first time the election of the Speaker has been subject to such a degree of public scrutiny following the expenses scandal. MPs will vote in a secret ballot on who will succeed Michael Martin as the speaker in the House of Commons. (KEYSTONE/PHOTOSHOT/Felipe Trueba)
