APOLLO 10 CSM VIEWED FROM LM OVER MOON, MAY 1969 - the Apollo 10 command and service modules are photographed from the lunar module after separation in lunar orbit (sky at top). The CSM was about 175 statute miles east of Smyth's Sea and was above rough terrain that is typical of the lunar farside. The eastward oblique view of the lunar surface is centered near 105 degrees east longitude and 1 degree north latitude. Numerours brigth craters and absence of shadows shows that the sun was almost directly overhead when the photograph was taken. Apollo 10 launched May 18, 1969 at Kennedy Space center, lunar orbit on May 21st., return to Earth after 192 hours 3 minutes 23 seconds in space. Splasheddown in Pacific Ocean on May 26th. Retrieval ship was U.S.S. Princeton. Spacecraft crew: Thomas P. Stafford, commander; John W. Young, command modul pilot and Eugene A. Cernon, lunar modul pilot. (KEYSTONE/AP Photo/NASA)
