Colonel Thomas Blood (c. 1618 - 1680 ). Irish Adventurer who attempted to steal the crown jewels, Colonel Thomas Blood (c. 1618 - 1680 ). Irish Adventurer. He first plotted to seize Dublin Castle, then after that plot was discovered, he broke into the Tower of London, with three accomplices and they stole the crown and orb.
