Swiss Scouts National Camp | Girls' Scouts in Goms (1957)
As early as 65 years ago in 1957, the plain near Goms in the canton of Valais at 1300 metres altitude was transformed into a large scout camp. Still organised in gender-segregated associations, more than 6000 Girl Guides and Girl Scouts travelled to the camp - 800 of them international guests. Now, in 2022, the largest national camp of the Swiss Scout Movement will again be held at the same location. Between 23 July and 6 August, 30,000 participants are expected to settle and move the Goms for a fortnight. (luk)
