Paul Watzlawick (1921-2007)
Paul Watzlawick (born July 25, 1921 in Villach, Austria; died March 31, 2007 in Palo Alto, California) was an Austrian philosopher, psychotherapist, communication scientist with a doctorate who lived in his adopted home of California and worked at MRI in Palo Alto. His work had an influence on family therapy and general psychotherapy, and he published quite a few professional books. In the German-speaking world, he became known to a wider audience through his popular scientific publication « Anleitung zum Unglücklichsein », as well as his highly respected contributions to communication theory, perception psychology and radical constructivism.
