USA Women's Voting Right (1919)
The First World War had a fundamental impact on women's suffrage in the ranks of warring nations. Women played a vital role on the home front, and many countries recognized their achievements by introducing women's suffrage during or shortly after the war, including the United States. On June 4, 1919, the ratification of the 19th amendment was submitted to the Senate and, after long discussion, adopted by a narrow two-thirds majority. (wp)
