Kim Phuc "Napalm Girl" by Nick Út (1972)
Phan Thi Kim Phúc, born April 2, 1963, in Trang Bang, Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam, is a victim of the Vietnam War. She suffered severe burns during a napalm attack by South Vietnamese aircraft on June 8, 1972. While the then nine-year-old was fleeing naked from the village of Trang Bang, she was photographed by press photographer Nick Út. The photo, along with the shooting of Nguyen Van Lem, is one of the most famous photos from the Vietnam War and was voted Press Photo of the Year in 1972. Út was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for it.
