The«Im Zelg» residential development in Uster sets new standards in sustainable construction. On the former industrial site, five apartment buildings with a total of 164 rental apartments have been built. The construction is carried out using timber, with the innovative TS3 (Timber Structures 3.0) technology, which enables the creation of load-bearing structures made of cross-laminated timber. This construction method is not only resource-efficient but also as stable as concrete. One advantage of this method is the high degree of prefabrication, which reduced the construction time by about 11 months and enabled the project to be completed on schedule. The resource-efficient construction of the «Im Zelg» development represents a step towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly building approach. (oro/swissbau)
