Switzerland Lac de la Gruyère | a lake is created (1948)
With the construction of the Rossens dam in the canton of Fribourg in 1948, a reservoir almost 10 kilometres long was created between the towns of Bulle and Fribourg. The new Swiss lake is officially named Lac de la Gruyère, Lake Gruyère. (luk)
