GROSSBRITANNIEN SCHILDKROETE
epa06666875 An undated handout photo made available by the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) on 13 April 2018 shows a Mary River turtle (Elusor macrurus) at an undisclosed location. This species was only formally described in 1994. Like several species, the Mary River turtle - dubbed 'punk-rock turtle' by some media outlets - can breathe underwater through special organs in its cloaca and stay submerged for up to three days.
